HAD A NARROW ESCAPE!
RANDALL CREWS, ASLEEP IN HIS BUGGY, KNOCKED FROM RAILROAD BY TRAIN.

Mr. Randall Crews, a farmer of the Hurricane Creek neighborhood in Pierce county, had a narrow escape from instant death Monday evening.

It seems that Mr. Crews, accompanied by his daughter and another young lady, were visiting in the Waltertown section. The young ladies got out of the buggy, but he proceeded on and before reaching the Air Line Railroad he had gone to sleep in his buggy. The horse walked on to the railroad track about the time the train was due to pass, and the engine hit the buggy smashing it to pieces and throwing Mr. Crews to the ground, dislocating his shoulder and inflicting several painful scalp wounds.

The injured man was picked up by the crew of the train and brought to the Maine hotel in this city, where he was attended by Dr. Izlar. He is resting very well today, and with no mishap will recover.

Mr. Crews is the father of Mrs. A. J. Sweat, who resides on Church Street in Old Waycross.
