General:
FIVEASH, JOHN.John Fiveash was born 1824 in Tattnall County, son of John Fiveash and grandson of John Fiveash, R.S., and his wife, Jane, of Bladen County, N.C. The families of John Fiveash, R.S., and his sons, John, Sion, and Elias Fiveash, all moved from Bladen County, N.C., to Tattnall county about 1815. John, the subject, was married in Montgomery County, Feb. 8, 18- to Anna Peterson, born 1825 in Sampson County, N.C. To them were born six children:

John Fiveash removed from Montgomery to Clinch county about 1857-58, and located in the present Dupont district. He enlisted Sept. 1, 1861, in Co. "H", 29th Volunteer Georgia Infantry Regiment, the first company raised in Clinch County. He served until March 12, 1864, when he died of disease in a Confederate hospital in Atlanta.
Mrs. Fiveash survived her husband many years, and reared the children to maturity. She died about 1902 in Clinch County.
