The Lord took a wonderful man on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in the evening. Latimer M. Bush, Jr. was surrounded by his family and after a long fight with Alzheimer's he followed his angel to his heavenly home for his final journey.
A Veteran of WW ll and a loving husband of 56 years, an outstanding father of five children, a grandfather of nine, four step grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was born in Lake City, Florida and following the service to his country, he completed his school, worked for the core of engineers, and retired from B.B. McCormick after 35 years. He was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church, he enjoyed watching all sports and was a number one Seminole Fan.
He is remembered for his genuine humor and all his numerous stories of his life which he shared so many times. He is survived by his wife Judy Bush, his children, Denise Richardson (husband Clay), Kimberly Booth, Kevin Bush (wife Lara), Jeff Bush, Sr. (wife Melissa), Stephen Bush (wife Ofelia). Grandchildren Megan Smoak (husband Tommy), Jeffrey, Jr., Brooklyn, Matthew (wife Ashley), Austin, Patrick, Taylor, Alyssa and Kaitlyn. Great Grandchildren Madison, Brayden, Shelby, Gunner and Jamie. His sister Betty Jo Laxton (husband Dale), nephew Allan Crews, and his children.
Services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, 12:00 pm at Resurrection Catholic Church with interment at the National Cemetery of Jacksonville. Memorial donations may be contributed to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeast Florida Hospice or Wounded Warrior Project in lieu of flowers.
