Its timbers were hewn out of original Porests, the boards and framing were sawn by hand and the brick were homemade, all work being done by skilled slaves which he owned. It was the first frame house built in that part of the county, and was 21/2 stories high, facing the bend in the Big Satilla River. Mr. Raulerson operated a ferry across the river.

Russell Raulerson resided for some years in Ware County and in the 584th militia district, now Pierce County, but about 1845 moved to Wayne County, not far from his former home. He served as Representative from Wayne County 1851-52, and as a justice of Wayne Inferior Court, 1854-1861. He and his wives were buried in the Raulerson Cemetery in Pierce County.

Abraham Register moved with his family from Bulloch to what was then Ware County before 1830, and settled in the 719th district in what is now Clinch county and the 970th district. His home was on lot of land 230, 12th land district. He lived there until 1853 when he moved to Hamilton County, Florida. In 1868, he moved back to Clinch for a brief residence, returning to Hamilton County not long before his death November 16, 1872. His remains were brought back to his old home county and buried at Wayfare Church on the Clinch-Echols County line. His two wives were buried two miles west of Jasper, Florida. The last wife died 1910.

Mr. Register served as 3rd sergeant in Capt. Levi J. Knight's independent militia company in 1838 in the Indian War, and also saw other service during the continuation of that conflict.
Note: Mr. Register, according to his son Samuel T. Register in 1926, had thirteen children by his first wife and nine by the second wife, total 22. Of these, nine died young and their names, with the exception of Nancy and William who are named above, were not remembered by him.
