Thomas Goodbread was born in this state, in 1787, a son of Phillip Goodbread, and grandson of Phillip Goodbread, R. S., of Tyron Co. N.C. His wife's name was Harriet, born about 1785 in Maryland; her maiden name is unknown. Known children of Thomas and Harriet were:

1. Dennis L.b. 1809, m. Ist. Mary Clubb; 2nd. Martha C. Goodbread, Apr. 5, 1858, widow of his bro. Phillip T.
2. Priscillab. 1812, m. John Harrison, Aug. 13, 1830.
3. Phillip T.b. 1815, m. Ist. Elizabeth Stewart, dau. of George, 1836; 2nd. Martha C. Franklin, 1846.
4. Elizabethb. 1818, m. Horace B. Harris, Apr. 19, 1840.
5. Joseph N.b. 1820, m. Maria A.
6. Adam Sowderb. 1822, m. Louisa. M Higginbotham.

Mr. Goodbread granted 500 acres of land in Camden County, Dec. 8, 1815. His home and plantation was on Cumberland Island. About 1835-37 he moved to Glynn County where he acquired land and lived until his death.

Camden County deed records show gift of two slaves from Phillip Goodbread to his son, Thomas, April lst, 1820, and of four slaves to Phillip, minor son of Thomas Goodbread, Nov. 4, 1819 (Deed book "K", page 308). Thomas Goodbread served in the War of 1812 in Lieut. Scott's detachment of Camden County militia, Jan. 15 to March 5, 1815.

Moore was the son of Thomas Carter Jr (b 1638 d 1733) of Isle of Wight
Co, VA and his wife Magdalene Moore. Thomas participated in Bacon's
Rebellion against the King of England and the Gov of Virginia in 1676. He
received 400 acres from his father in law George Moore, also of Isle of
Wight, VA as a dowry in 1673.
