The family moved to Georgia at an early date and settled in Tattnall County about 1810. From there they moved to Ware County about 1827, and settled in the present Millwood section of Ware. William Beverly died there in 1848, and his widow survived some years, dying April 2, 1870. She spent her last years with her daughter, Mrs. Spikes. Mr. and Mrs. Beverly were buried in the Hargraves Cemetery near Millwood. Her grave is marked but his is not.

The Beverly home was on lots of land Nos. 41 and 42, 8th district of Ware, which Mr. Beverly bought January 6, 1836 from John S. Henderson (deed book "I" ' page 164, Ware County records). These were owned by him at his death.
