Pency Rhoden dies Thursday at 79

Mrs. Pency Crews Rhoden, age 79, of Macclenny died Thursday in a local hospital. A native of Nassau County, she had lived in Baker County most of her lifetime. She attended the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church and was the widow of the late Lacy D. Rhoden.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Inez Johnson of Jacksonville, Mrs. Beatrice Dugger of Crawfordville, and Mrs. Joyce Branum of Gurley, Ala.; four sons, Melvin F. Rhoden of Baldwin, Delmar L. Rhoden of Jacksonville, Cecil H. Rhoden of Macclenny, and Randall G: Rhoden of Macclenny; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Purvis of St. Augustine and Mrs. Rosa Yarborough of Jacksonville; also 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning 10 o'clock from the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder O.M. Yarbrough officiating. Pallbearers were Larry Johnson, Jimmie Dugger, Gary Rhoden, Bobbie Dugger, Ray Rhoden, and Garland Rhoden. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery. John M. Brinkley, Mortician, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Pency Crews Rhoden, Macclenny, died Thursday. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Inez Johnson, Jacksonville, Mrs. Beatrice Dugger, Crawfordville, and Mrs. Joyce Brannum, Gurley, Ala.; four sons, Melvin, Baldwin, Delmar, Jacksonville, and Cecil and Randall, both of Macclenny; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Purvis, St. Augustine, and Mrs. Rosa Yarborough, Jacksonville; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. John M. Brinkley Funeral Home is in charge.
