Thomas Altman, the subject, was a private in a detachment of Wayne County militia in 1814, serving in the War of 1812. He died at his home in Wayne County about 1838. His widow and the younger ones of the children moved over into Ware County where she is shown as the head of the household in the 1840 Census (listed as Levicy Altman); they lived then in the 9th land district of Ware in the portion now in Pierce County. She later married Rev. Thomas Green, a local Methodist preacher, but had no further issue. After the latter's death about 1948 she returned to Wayne County and was living there in the 1850 Census with her son, Jacob Altman, being listed then as Lucy Green. She was still in the 1860 Census and in Jacob's home, and died sometime in the 1860s.
