Jesse Mixon
Jesse Mixon was born in South Carolina in 1744, the son of John Mixon IV, of Darlington District, South Carolina. It is not known who his mother was. He died in Yazoo County, Mississippi about 1832. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War in South Carolina, serving in Captain Robert Lide's Company of Volunteers, which was organized on October 5, 1775.
He received a small land grant in 1785 in Beaufort District, South Carolina, located on Matthews Bluff, near the Savannah River. He moved to Effingham County, Georgia beforte 1790, and later, to Bulloch County, Georgia. County records of Effingham County indicate he was Administrator of the estate of Henry Webb and Rachel Shorter. In Bulloch County, he was the Administrator of the estate of John Cook.
Jesse Mixon was married twice. It is not known who either of his wives were before marriage. By his first wife, these are his known children, list thought to be incomplete:

Jesse Mixon, his wife, and four or more of their children were in Mississippi Territory by 1811. It is known that the sons, Redden and Jesse Jr. remained in Georgia. Jesse jr. continued to live in Bulloch County, and Redden in Liberty County.
Amelia died in 1850 in Pierce County, GA and is buried in the Shiloh Cemetery.
