C., in 1792, a son of James Robinson, R. S. He was a first cousin to James Thomas Robeson, they being brothers' children. The Robeson (or Robinson) family moved to Georgia from Pitt County, N. C., around 1810. James, the subject, was married in 1820 to Easter O'Steen, born 1800 in South Carolina, daughter of John O'Steen. They had nineteen children but the Compiler has been able to obtain names of only sixteen, the other three probably dying in infancy. The sixteen known children were:

Mr. Robinson's home was on Cow-house Creek In present Charlton County where he lived until his death about 1874. He and his wife were buried at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church in Charlton County, of which church they were members many years. The Robinson residence was in Wayne ounty until about 1830 when he appears to have either moved to Camden County or have been placed in it by change in county lines. He was cut out of Camden into Charlton in the latter's creation in 1854.

Civil War record of three sons lost in the war: Matthew enlisted Aug. 15, 1861, in Co. "F", 26th Georgia Infantry Regiment, and was killed at Fredericksburg, Virginia, Dee, 13, 1862. ROBINSON, JOHN.

APPLING

John Robinson (or Robeson) was born in Pitt County, N. C., about 1790, a son of James Robeson, R. S. He came to Georgia with his parents in his youth, and was married, probably in Tattnall County, to Elizabeth, daughter of Isaac Carter, youngest brother of George Carter (q. v.). To them were born the following children:

1. William.b. 1808, m. Sarah Carter, dau. of William (Vol. ll)
2. Lazarusb. 1811, m. Eady
3. Civilityb. 1815, m. Stogner Harris.
4. Jamesb. 1818, m. Mary
5. Molsy Annb. 1824, m. William. Carter, son of Wm. (Vol. ll).

The 1820 Census indicates John Robinson and wife had eight children at that time, but deed records showing disposition of lands owned by him at his death, show the above were all the surviving heirs in 1836. John Robeson lived in the 3rd district of Appling County and died there about 1835. He was first cousin to the above James T. Robinson.
