12. Oregon C. b. Nov. 19, 1864, m. Jonathan Thomas Coker.

Thomas H. Albritton and his wife Frances (called "Fannie") were members of High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church in present Brantley County. She was received and baptized Dec. 17, 1842, and he likewise on March 11, 1843. They were both dismissed by letter Dec. 13, 1845, when they moved to Columbia County, Fla. They lived in Columbia County seven or eight years, then moved to Putnam County, Fla., where they lived until 1864. They then moved to Chicora in Manatee Co., Fla., settling on land on Horse Creek in the portion of Manatee made into DeSoto County in 1887. He died there Feb. 19, 1907. His wife had died many years before, Sept. 15, 1879. They were buried in the cemetery at Lilly, Fla., where their graves are marked.

When the town-site of Arcadia, Fla., was laid out by its founder, Mr. Hendry, the latter named the new town "Arcadia" for Miss Arcadia Albritton, according to Mr. Albert DeVane, well-known South Florida historical authority.

Mr. Albritton served as a private in the Georgia militia in the Indian War in 1838 and 1840.His first service was in Capt. James Walker's company of Ware county militia, June 9th, 1838, to Aug. 19, 1838. His second service was in Capt. James Jones' company of mounted militia from Ware co, Aug. 26, to Sept. 15, 1840. On Feb. 1, 1851 in Columbia Co. Fla., where he was residing, he made application for bounty-land under the Act of 1850 for his service in Capt. Walker's company. On April 16, 1855, in Putnam County, Fla., where he was residing at the time, he made another application for bounty-land for the same service, under the Act of 1855 allowing additional bounty-land. The latter application was held up for some reason and he submitted a substitute appplication made Jan. 11, 1856, in Putman county, based on his service in Capt. Jones' company. This last application was approved and he was granted 80 acres.
