Roger was killed, as a young man, by Indians soon after his move to Camden County from South Carolina. He died in the Second Indian War. The story goes that he was shot off his horse and his dog would nor allow anyone to approach the body for a while.
Jesse T. Green, Sr. was born in Georgia in 1818, probably in Camden County near Trader's Hill, a son of Daniel Green. He married Kesiah Crews in December of 1835. Her father was killed during the Indian War, and her mother, Elizabeth Crews, eventually made her home with a son in Baker County, Florida.
