Allison Cason was born in 1806 or 1807 in Tattnall County, son of Frederick Cason (Vol. V). He came with his parents when they moved to Appling County, later being cut into Ware County in its creation. He was married in Ware, (now Pierce) County, Sept. 10, 1835, to Sarah Peacock, born 1812 Tattnall County, daughter of John Peacock and granddaughter of Rev. Isham Peacock, R.S., (Vol. VI). They had the following children:

1. John Peacockb. 1840,died single in C. S. Army.
2. Elizabethb. 1842,m. Richard Lee (son of George).
3. Jamesb. 1844,m. Margaret Altman, dau. of Richard.
4. Maryb. 1846,m. (unknown).
5. Alexanderb. 1850,m. Penny-Corbitt, dau. of William and Frances.

Allison Cason served in the Indian War as a private in Capt. David J. Miller's Company of Ware County militia, June 9th to Aug. 19, 1838, and also in Capt. James A. Sweat's company of Ware County militia, Nov. 1st to Dec. 30, 1839. He applied on Jan. 27, 1851, for bounty land under the Act of Congress of 1850, and was granted 80 acres. He died shortly after, on Feb. 22, 1851. His widow applied for bounty land Mar. 26, 1855, under the Act of 1855, and was granted 80 acres also. She was living with her maiden daughter, Mary, in Ware County at time of the 1870 census. Alexander was living with them but married soon after.

Allison Cason owned at his death lot of land 165 in 8th district of Ware County (which is now in the eastern limits of the city of Waycross), same being his homeplace. His widow and son-in-law, Richard Lee, were the administrators of his estate, and sold this property at public sale for $1131.00, Feb. 6,1867 (deed book "B" p. 439, of Ware). Theprice paid is indicative of the good improvements on the lot.

Allison Cason and his wife were buried at Mount Pleasant Church near Waycross.

The son, John P. Cason, enlisted as a private in Co. "K", 26th Georgia Infantry Regiment, C.S.A., Oct. 1st, 1861. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant, Sept. 26, 1862, and to 1st Lieutenant, April 9, 1863. He was killed in the battle at Spottsylvania Courthouse, Va., May 12, 1864.

Allison Cason was born in 1806 or 1807 in Tattnall County, son of Frederick Cason (Vol. V). He came with his parents when they moved to Appling County, later being cut into Ware County in its creation. CASON, FREDERICK
1777-1840

Frederick Cason was born in South Carolina about 1777-1780, a son of William Cason, R.S. The family was originally from North Carolina, moving to South Carolina about the time of the Revolution. From there they emigrated to Georgia, living in Tattnall County ten or fifteen years, then moving to Appling Co. when it was first opened up to settlers in 1819. In 1825 they were cut out of Appling into Ware County. The elder Cason was a Revolutionary Soldier and drew land as such in the Georgia Land Lottery, residing at the time in Ware County.
Frederick Cason's wife was Elizabeth Williams, born in 1785, a daughter of William Williams and his wife, Penelope Richardson, formerly of Bulloch County but who had moved to Montgomery County about 1800 (before 1802) and later living in Tattnall County. Frederick and Elizabeth Cason had at least nine children (as indicated by the 1830 Census) but names of all of them cannot be learned. Their known children were:

Frederick Cason served as Justice of Peace in the 40th district of Tattnall County, 1809-1816. In the Act passed in December, 1819, providing for the organization of Appling County, he was named as one of the election managers to conduct the election for the first county officers, and he was elected one of the first five Justices of the Inferior Court of the new county, being commissioned March 19, 1820. He was named in a legislative resolution approved Dec. 23, 1826, he served as one of the five trustees for the Poor School Fund of Ware County. He died in 1840 and was buried in Kettle Creek Cemetery; grave unmarked. His wife survived about five or six years and was buried by him.
