General Notes: Wife - Sarah Kinsey

****DOD incorrect on tombstone. See note under memorial. Copy of Florida Death Certificate shows DOD as June 9, 1925. The date will be changed per Death Certificate.

The 1850 census has her father as William Kinsey and the death certificate has her father as Wash Kinsey. Her father's names could have been William Washington 'Wash' Kinsey. Her mother's name was unknown on the Certificate, but her name is Mary through out the Census's. The year of her births on the children of William Washington 'Wash' Kinsey and Mary Unknown Kinsey were very incorrect in the 1850 census.

In the 1850 census, Mary Ann was abt 2-3 yrs older than Luke and Luke was about 1-2 years older than Sarah...who was abt 1-2 years older than Elizabeth. These dates varied a lot in later censuses.

William and Mary had 6 children: Mary Ann, Sarah, **Lewis Luke, Elizabeth, George Washington 'Wash' and Eliza.

**Lewis Luke Kinsey was actually born as Luke Kinsey but was known and called Lewis most of the time. He served in the Civil War under the name of Luke.

Sarah remained all her life in the Lake City, Columbia County, Florida area. Her sister, Mary, moved to Polk County, Florida. Lewis Luke, George Washington 'Wash' and Eliza, as well as their mother, moved to Alachua County, but that portion of the county became Gilchrist County in 1925. Sarah's mother received a land grant signed by the President in 1900's. It's unknown where/when her mother died and is buried. Her father has not been found after the 1850 census, but must have died just before the 1860 census, as the last child was born in 1861.
