Mr. Albritton came with his parents to Effingham County in his boyhood, and grew up there. He was cut into Bulloch County in 1796. He was commissioned a lieutenant in the Bulloch County militia, August 26, 1808. He granted 350 acres of land in 1810 in Bulloch, and 150 acres in 1813.

About 1818 he sold out his plantation in Bulloch and moved to Bryan County, where he acquired lands on Savage Creek, and made his home. He granted 600 acres of land there in 1820. He served 1823 as 2nd lieutenant of the Bryan County militia in the 19th district, and as Sheriff of Bryan County, 1824-1826.

About 1835, Mr. Albritton sold out and moved to the 590th district of Ware County where he was Justice of Peace 1841-1845. In the Indian War he and his sons, Henry W., Arthur, Thomas H., and James all served in Capt. James Walker's company of Ware County militia in 1838. In 1858 he was cut out of Ware into the new County of Pierce; this portion is now in Brantley County. Mr. Albritton died in 1865, and his son, Henry W., was the administrator on his estate.

Mrs. Fanny Albritton was baptized into High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church, December 10, 1842, and her husband was received in like manner March 11, 1843. They were dismissed by letter December 13, 1845, and were members of the church "on the Buffalo" nearer their home, until their deaths.
