James Inman was a brother of John A. T. Inman (see Vol. 1) and was born in Tatnall County, December 10, 1814, a son of John and Priscilla (Surrency) Inman. He came with his parents to Ware County in boyhood, and was married there in 1838 to Miss Cyrene McDonald, daughter of Dr. Randall McDonald (see Vol. 1). She was born in Tattnall County, February 16, 1821, and died at the family home in Ware County, May 24, 1875. To James and Cyrene Inman were born:

Mr. Inman served in the Indian War in Capt. D. J. Miller's company of Ware County militia in 1838. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, receiving his degrees in 1858 in the old Waresboro Lodge No. 217. He served as a Justice of Ware Inferior Court, 1846-1847.
Mr. Inman lived in Ware County until soon after his wife's death when he sold out his plantation there and moved to Clinch County, where he bought Lot 460, 12th district. He lived there until 1882 when he sold out to C. C. Harper and moved to Genoa, Hamilton County, Florida, where he bought a farm and lived until his death August 4, 1897. His remains were brought back and buried at Kettle Creek Methodist Church near Waycross, where his wife was buried.
Mr. and Mrs. Inman were faithful members of the Methodist Church and f or many years he was a steward in his church. His son-in-law, Rev. Bickley, was a member of the South Georgia Conference of the Methodist Church. His son, Charles Wesley Inman, moved to Florida in 1881 and was admitted to the Florida Conference, Methodist Church, in 1884, and served thirty-six years in that connection. A grandson, Rev. W. J. Booth (son of Jesse G. and Matilda), served in the ministry of the Congregational Methodist Church for many years in this section, and is yet living at the age of 90, at Waycross.
